I’ve just added an online chat widget in the right column of this website. This widget will give you the possibility to chat with me live while visiting cyberutopie.

The widget is provided by digsby, the multi-protocol instant messaging software that I use since a few months and that I find absolutely perfect for my needs. You should give it a try.

I stumbled across a very useful website this morning: Quarkbase.

This tool asks you to enter a website domain name and it will gather tons of useful information about this website for you. It can seometimes be useful for people who want to know a bit more about the creators or the owners of a website or if it is frequently visited…

OK. I just read the news that Google is planning to release today a beta version of its new Chrome browser. Chrome will be an open source product, which is a good thing. But I am still asking myself why does Google want to enter the browser war? A lot of us use IE (not me!). Another big bunch of people use Firefox (me!!!). And people on the Mac like to use Safari. So is there really a need for another browser in the ring? I don’t think so. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Chrome has to offer. But if it is not revolutionary, I just don’t see why I should abandon my precious Firefox for such a product. I guess time will tell. Let’s be patient. The first reviews will hit the web probably by tomorrow. We’ll then have a better idea of what Chrome has under the hood.

Sid Lee just launched a new website for its client Garnier Canada. The site gives quick hints for people who want to find a nice hair style which can be created using nice Garnier products of course.

Take a look at it and give me your comments: Garnier Hairstyle Video Instructions.

PS: Eric, you’re the king!!!

… and without any incident! That was the thing I feared the most. I was anxious to see some terrorists plot something bad during the two weeks of games. But finally nothing happened. Only good performances by super athletes from all around the world. And this is how everybody (including me) wanted it to be I guess. Olympic games are supposed to be an event where all nations must celebrate through the sports.

Now we can say that Michael Phelps, from the USA, stole the show with his 8 gold medals. What an athlete. Usian Bolt from Jamaica was very impressive too. And we can also say that the people from Beijing definitely know how to organize opening and closing shows. The spectacles were just fabulous (even if a bit tricked for the TV).

Even if the Canada did not finish in the top-16 countries, we can be proud of our athletes. 18 medals is 6 more than what we got at Athens. So we cannot complain.

We had two good weeks of Olympic performances. Now this is over and we’ll have to wait until 2010 in Vancouver for more of this. In the waiting, we have good NHL hockey to entertain us that starts in a few weeks!

OK people! I told you I was working on another blog with a more “trashy” concept where I’ll post CD and movie reviews and also weird stuff. Well here it is: cynyx.com (the domain name sounds a bit like “cynic”, I liked it).

I’ll use this new blog to post articles that have a “darkier” and/or “humorous” side, a bit like the previous version of cyberutopie (while I’ll keep this one more “serious”). Feel free to drop by…

Yes, my blog is back online, back from the ashes, after a switch to the WordPress platform and a good redesign. And as you can see I am writing this post in english and I will do the same for the following ones. Why is that? 1) It makes me practice my english which is something I need; 2) It will give me a broader audience because I now write in an internationally spoken language.

Another thing I must say is that you won’t find any CD reviews or humorus posts on this blog. But don’t be sad people, I am working on another blog that should see the light somewhere in the next days and that will contain all these entertaining posts that a lot of you people seemed to appreciate a lot. I’ll let you know when everything is ready for you to enjoy…

So that’s it for tonight. It’s 23h30 and I still want to finish setup this thing… See you soon!

Oh yes and by the way my new RSS feed URL is http://cyberutopie.com/?feed=rss2
